A handy guide to crystals， especially if you're getting started。 It touches on many aspects: how crystals are formed， selecting your crystals， placing them， caring for them and so on。 The biggest section is dedicated to the crystals themselves: their appearance， rarity， colors， attributes （mental， physical and more） and it's easy to search for a specific crystal。 It touches on chakras and how to use crystals to align them （which isn't necessarily what I look for in a crystal but it can help othe A handy guide to crystals， especially if you're getting started。 It touches on many aspects: how crystals are formed， selecting your crystals， placing them， caring for them and so on。 The biggest section is dedicated to the crystals themselves: their appearance， rarity， colors， attributes （mental， physical and more） and it's easy to search for a specific crystal。 It touches on chakras and how to use crystals to align them （which isn't necessarily what I look for in a crystal but it can help other people） A section of the book is dedicated to shapes。 What I really liked was the "placements" ， for example: placing a certain crystal in a specific corner of your house to attract or manifest something。 I haven't found that in other book。I would always recommend having other books as resources when researching a crystal， even if this book is pretty good as a reference！ 。。。more

I love this book - a great easy to read guide on over 200 crystals。 Lots of extra information on their help in healing and keeping us in tune with our feelings。 I have the other 2 to read but will be delving in and out of them all for many years to come。 My grandson who is 10 also loves it！

I've always loved crystals and gemstones， so I'm surprised I'm only just now owning something like this - a crystal/gem/stone/geode/mineral guide！ Practically all the properties， references and info are here - there are thousands upon thousands of stones and other earth matter materials listed - and are told in a friendly and accessible way。 Pictures included。 I'll be looking through this constantly （my personal favourite gems are pearls， moonstones， opals， rose quartzes， and amethysts）。 Good fo I've always loved crystals and gemstones， so I'm surprised I'm only just now owning something like this - a crystal/gem/stone/geode/mineral guide！ Practically all the properties， references and info are here - there are thousands upon thousands of stones and other earth matter materials listed - and are told in a friendly and accessible way。 Pictures included。 I'll be looking through this constantly （my personal favourite gems are pearls， moonstones， opals， rose quartzes， and amethysts）。 Good for spirituality， meditation， holism and witchcraft enthusiasts， as well。Final Score: 4/5 。。。more

Still my number one goto for information about crystals。 Enjoy selecting crystals from the shop first by instinct and going on to read about them later。 Great reference， although not all covered。 I own volume 2 and 3， but in my opinion this is better than both of them。

Very helpful in bead selection for malasI make malas for meditation。 Rather than picking one or two stones， I prefer to use several different crystals in each piece。 This book has been integral in choosing which beads to choose and also in writing up accurate descriptions of the pieces attributes。 It is the perfect blend of spiritual and pragmatic information！！

I have not read this book from start to finish - I don´t even think that is how it should be read - but I have looked up pretty much every crystal I own。 It is a lovely volume and I think that even if you do not believe in crystals as a means of healing， you can appreciate it simply for what the stones can symbolize。
